Job Overview:
We are seeking a talented Worship Leader to join our team. The Worship Leader will be responsible for leading and coordinating music and worship services.


Who You Are:

A committed, faithful Christian looking to worship and serve with a vibrant, growing faith community that loves and appreciates participatory contemporary worship.

A skilled, flexible musician who enjoys working with an enthusiastic crew of volunteer musicians and vocalists. A person of personal integrity, with a passion for congregational singing and demonstrated experience leading worship. You're already familiar with Planning Center's Worship Center program, or tech-comfortable and willing to learn.

A leader with excellent communication skills, both interpersonal and musical, with the ability to effectively invite the congregation into deeper experience of worship.

What You'll Do:

As one of two part-time worship ministers, you will plan and lead services two Sundays a month, in-person at church in Glendale, CA (also livestreamed via YouTube) and serve one additional Sunday as part of the worship band (instrumentalist or vocalist).

For your Sundays leading, you'll coordinate our volunteer musicians and vocalists and create the set list using Planning Center's Worship Center, and collaborate with our senior and associate pastor and tech volunteers on services.

As you build familiarity with our community and volunteers, you'll recruit and onboard new musicians and vocalists, and encourage and empower their spiritual and musical growth.

You'll familiarize yourself with the church's repertoire and expand it through the introduction of new music.

Located on the border of Burbank and Glendale, Glendale Church's mission is to be A Home in LA for our members-meeting people where they are in this often challenging, isolating city, and facilitating inclusive, healthy, life-affirming, multigenerational communities through faith-based connection, service, and discipleship.

Pay and hours:

Part-time, roughly ten hours per week on leading weeks (3-5 hours prep and personal rehearsal; 8am-10am band rehearsal, 10:30-12 church service); five hours on non-leading Sunday (1 hour personal rehearsal, 8am-10am band rehearsal, 10:30-12 church service).

$600-650/month. Sunday schedule required; otherwise flexible hours.

Reports to five-person eldership team; collaborates with one additional part-time worship minister and two FT pastors.
