- Repair and clean at least one type of instrument - brass, woodwind, orchestral, or percussion
- Provide repair estimates to customers
- Adhere to timelines to complete work within estimated costs and duration
- Service customer-owned and retail instruments ranging from student to professional levels
- Perform tasks at an hourly rate exceeding the shop's rate while maintaining high-quality standards
- Assist in repair clinics or school events as required
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an apprenticeship or accredited repair school program
- Minimum of 6 years' daily experience working with musical instruments preferred
- Noisy environment
- Standing, sitting, walking
- Lifting, pushing, and pulling instruments and cases weighing up to 75 pounds
- Mild odor from cleaning chemicals

An instrument repair technician's role is to fix musical instruments efficiently and promptly, ensuring they are returned to customers in optimal playing condition. Technicians may specialize in a specific type of instrument or work across various categories. Preference for experience with Woodwinds.
