The primary purpose of this position is to assess for the appropriateness of LCNH residents; to preform restorative nursing procedures that maximize/improve the resident's existing abilities, emphasize independence, and remain realistically optimistic while using a person-centered approach. Assess, write programs, communicate these programs to all involved, write care plans and update as goals dictate.
- Evaluate, develop, organize, direct, and implement restorative services and activities driven by State and Federal regulation.
- Work closely with all therapies to maintain, when possible, all residents' level of function.
- Care planning must include languages, cultural preferences and concerns, traumainformed approaches, and communication of same to all staff involved.
- May be asked to participate in various committees as appointed by Administrator.
- Must be in the rotation for weekends to be available to answer any staff issues and rotate to the floor when needed if the facility drops below CMS minimum requirements for nursing staffing.
- Attend morning IDT meetings to discuss any Restorative updates.
- Attend and prepare any information for QA meetings.
- Prepare any reports, for the Nursing Home Board, as it pertains to the Restorative department.
- Monitor individuals for swallowing difficulty and/or the need for special equipment. Evaluate appropriate seating arrangements in the dining room for residents.
- Interpret restorative programs to personnel, residents, and families.
- Review restorative care policies at least annually.
- Evaluate and give yearly evaluations to restorative aids.
- Maintain current files on all residents treated.
- Participate in discharge planning to share where the resident is in terms of his /her ability to perform Activities of Daily Living and document those discussions.
- Act as a nurse liaison with regard to preadmission consideration for possible residents.
- Assume the authority, responsibility and accountability for directing restorative services.
- Provide restorative training for new or less experienced personnel.
- Maintain a professional enthusiastic relationship with all other disciplines, residents' family and physicians.
- Review all physicians' restorative orders.
- Assist in transporting resident to and from restorative room.
- Develop and participate in the design of restorative type in servicing and education.
- Attend workshops, seminars to maintain your required CEUs.
- Develop safety standards for restorative care, driven by resident's physician's plan of care.
Pay:
$77,163.27 per year
