Salary Range:
$80,000-$85,000 (based on years of experience, school experience, bilingual, etc.)


Position Responsibilities and Duties:


  • Consult with parents, teachers, administrators, and appropriate agencies in the planning of educational and therapeutic programs; agency personnel may include private physicians, psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, probation officers, mental health professionals, and others as appropriate.
  • Recommend appropriate educational and psychological remediation through the use of psychological tests.
  • Interpret and analyze the assessment results with regard to the intellectual, academic, social, emotional, and behavioral development of pupils, and the implications of results for the instructional program.
  • Prepare written assessment reports for each student evaluated.
  • Participate in IEP teams and in IEP reviews.
  • Conduct required reevaluations on Special Education students.
  • Participate in the development of school services promoting positive mental health and effective environments for learning.
  • Initiate referrals to Mental Health Services when needed.
  • Assist in the evaluation of the effectiveness of specific phases of educational programs.
  • Serve as a resource person in such areas as guidance, curriculum, child development, and tests and measurements.
  • Collaboration in master schedule planning for the special education program
  • Perform other related duties as may be assigned

Minimum Skills or Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field
  • Master's degree
  • California Credential authorizing the performance of psychological services
  • Administrative Services Credential (preferred)
  • ADE School Psychologist Certification
  • Graduate degree from NASP-Approved School
  • Valid IVP Fingerprint Card

Work Environment and Physical Demands:


  • Occasional exposure to dust, pollen, and fumes
  • Requires frequent reaching, handling, sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, running, carrying, and lifting 50 or more lbs.
  • Must be able to see and hear within normal range with or without correction.
  • The noise intensity level is moderate to high
