Manager - Global Merchant Services - U.S. Marketing Compliance
This position will play a critical role within the U.S. Global Merchant Services (GMS) Line of Business Compliance (LOBCO) team supporting the GMS sales and marketing organizations.

This person will provide strategic compliance expertise to drive innovation for the business while aligning with applicable laws and regulations for GMS products, features, processes, and relationships.

The compliance efforts for this position will have a particular focus on supporting marketing strategies, risk management initiatives, merchant communications and sales practices.

Areas of responsibility will include assessment of compliance risk associated with marketing campaigns, review of marketing claims and disclosures, addressing issue resolution in a timely manner, and assisting in relevant audit requests.


Responsibilities:


  • Providing solutionoriented compliance guidance to assist business colleagues in reaching their goals while meeting compliance requirements.
  • Driving implementation of applicable policy and regulatory requirements in the areas of UDAP, sales practices, and other relevant federal, state and local regulations.
  • Review and provide guidance to the business on marketing and advertising material including required disclosures.
  • Advising leaders on areas of emerging risk and approaches to improve necessary controls and practices as appropriate, including in the area of sales practices.
  • Effectively manage the Compliance Issue Management process and ensure appropriate decisioning of Compliance Issues, timely closure of gaps and customer remediation where required.
  • Review partnerships to ensure compliance in delivering required marketing objectives
  • Participate in the Compliance Risk Assessment process to ensure that all applicable laws and regulations are mapped to the applicable business processes, and assess the strength of the control environment.
  • Working with key compliance and business colleagues such as Operational Excellence, General Counsel's Office, Enterprise Digital & Data Solutions, US Bank Compliance, Internal Audit, and Independent Compliance Testing.
  • Assist in preparation for regulatory inquiries and examinations.
  • Additional responsibilities based on team needs.

Qualifications:


  • Minimum 5 7 years experience in Compliance or related activities, within the financial services industry.
  • Prior marketing, compliance, legal or risk experience is a plus.
  • Deep regulatory knowledge of the financial regulations applicable to U.S. marketing including UDAP.
  • Indepth knowledge and understanding of compliance risk management practices and methodologies, including risk and control assessments.
  • Understanding of regulatory expectations and experience preparing for regulator meetings and examinations.
  • Proven ability to build rapport, garner respect and appropriately exercise authority in a collaborative environment.
  • Strong relationship and leadership skills with proven ability to communicate and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Professional maturity and confidence in expressing a point of view with management.
  • Excellent written, verbal, research, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to identify and understand key risks, issues and trends and to develop meaningful information to be shared with leadership.
