**Environmental Health & Safety Manager**, we have an exciting opportunity for you

This position, reporting to the Global EHS Director, is a subject matter expert with an organization-wide focus that provides regional support and guidance on a wide array of EHS topics. This EHS Manager retains ownership/accountability for development and implementation of global EHS policies, procedures, and management systems with a focus on standardization, centralization, and building best practices. This position assures advancement of Woodward EHS strategies, supports risk reduction and operational productivity enhancement.

**What you will be doing**

Implements short-term and long-term functional EHS goals/objectives and holds primary responsibility for tactical implementation of corporate EHS initiatives and programs. May be responsible for an area of EHS specialty, providing advice, expertise, and support to global operations.

Participates in the work of developing and implementing the enterprise Woodward EHS framework element standards and practices. Evaluates and monitors program effectiveness, and regularly reviews and updates enterprise standard operating procedures for the management system framework.

Maintains depth of knowledge to various EHS technical/specialist sub-functions such as industrial hygiene, occupational safety, remediation, environmental sustainability to ensure compliance at the site level. Monitors for new/proposed changes to EHS regulations broadly and provides recommendations for incorporation into the EHS management systems and standards in a timely manner.

Accountable and responsible for developing, implementing, managing, and maintaining enterprise internal/external EHS compliance programs, procedures, practices, functional training curriculum programs, including the development and implementation of an internal global audit program.

Supports oversight of sites compliance to EHS regulations and standards as promulgated by regulatory agencies through periodic on-site compliance audits and inspection/monitoring programs. Leads and/or participates in routine site audits in the global compliance audit program (2-4 per year).

Promotes effective culture and communication programs in accordance with the long-term strategic plan to enhance and encourage member awareness of health, safety, and environmental compliance, and drive change necessary for continuous improvement.

Provides EHS expertise, guidance, advice, and support to a wide variety of internal stakeholders. Interface with departments/individuals as appropriate to ensure corporate, divisional, and local objectives are met; maximize synergies within the businesses regarding procedures, metrics, communications, assessments, site steering committee(s), etc.

Supports and contributes to incident investigations and analysis where needed. Responsible for incident trend analysis and sharing/leveraging learnings with the organization.

Accountable for program design and deployment of EHS data collection systems for global data trending and best practice sharing.

Implement action plans to meet budgets and performance goals, measure performance and review and report progress.

When appropriate, supports/manages any soil and/or groundwater remediation activities, including technical oversight, conducting negotiations with the regulatory agencies, and maintaining appropriate financial records and audit trails.

Maintains competency and knowledge level and contacts within the professional community, agencies, and local organizations.

**Qualifications**

**What We Are Looking For**

Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety, Health and/or Safety, Occ. Health, Industrial Hygiene, Physical Science/ Engineering Required.

Masters degree and/or Certified Safety Professional designation preferred

Minimum 5 years experience in combination of operations/EHS roles with a focus on corporate/global leadership and tactical EHS management required.

Manufacturing experience strongly preferred.

Specialist knowledge in various areas of EHS, including safety and health, industrial hygiene, environmental and sustainability, remediation, management systems, auditing, etc. Understanding of impacts and implications of regulatory or policy changes in these areas to organization and proven ability to implement improvements.

Ability to travel on company business in the U.S. and internationally (up to 30% travel).

Ability to be on call to assist with activities related to safety, environmental.
