    Description

    POSITION SUMMARY :


    You will perform preventive maintenance and repair of heavy duty vehicle fleet and related equipment. You will make sure that the equipment is safe and well maintained as they play a major function in handling operations.

    RESPONSIBILITIES :

    As a Heavy Duty Mechanic, you must be able to :

    • Ensure preventive maintenance of our heavy duty vehicle fleet and related equipment: small and big forklifts, service/ tow trucks, scissorlifts, genie-boom, and small engines

    · Troubleshoot and fix problems of all kinds

    • Adjust, replace, and fix various parts of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
    • Maintain engine operations
    • Inform the Maintenance supervisor of the engines status
    • Recondition engines, transmissions, big/ small forklift mast, etc
    • Read and understand the maintenance and repairs manuals
    • Perform others duties as assigned (welding, cutting, lubricating, etc)

    RequirementsREQUIREMENTS :

    Must be able to :

    · Climb stairs and ladders; work at heights

    · Lift and carry between 30-50 lbs

    · Stand and walk for long periods of time

    · Bend, kneel, squat, twist, reach

    · Work above shoulders

    · Tolerate exposure to weather, hot/ cold environments

    · Work in a confined space

    · Work rotating shifts (5/4, schedule 1,2,3, including working during the week and the week-ends)

    • Must provide his own tools

    ASSETS:

    • Diploma/ training in Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or relevant training
    • Relevant experience
