    Job DescriptionSalary: $25 - $35 per hour based on experience and performance

    INDUSTRIAL DIESEL MECHANIC

    Heavy Duty Tire, LLC is a family owned and operated Commercial Tire Facility providing sales and service throughout the country with its headquarters located in West Palm Beach, FL.

    We are now accepting applications for a full-time industrial diesel mechanic to join our team at our Tampa location.

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Maintain diesel equipment operations by completing inspections & preventative maintenance requirements; correcting vehicle deficiencies; making adjustments and alignments; keep detailed records.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Provide regular preventative maintenance on machines and equipment
    • Provide emergency unscheduled repairs which may require overtime and some weekends – as needed
    • Responsible for observing and troubleshooting malfunctions
    • Responsible for repairing and or replacing defective or faulty equipment parts using hand tools and power tools
    • Diagnosing equipment and systems
    • Must be able to properly use a cutting torch
    • Read and follow prints
    • Read all types of measuring devices
    • Must follow all OSHA safety standards in all work that is performed

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Must be 23 years of age or older
    • High School Diploma or GED preferred
    • Must be able to successfully pass the standard written and riding forklift test
    • Ability to operate a fork truck/power worker
    • Possess a valid driver's license
    • Diesel engine repair training or equal experience
    • Able to read, write & communicate English
    • Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
    • Additional training may be required depending on the job assignment.
    • Advanced knowledge of a vehicle, its electrical system and the mechanisms of a diesel engine
    • In-depth knowledge of diesel engine components and operational mechanisms
    • Superior knowledge of maintenance tools and repair equipment
    • Comfortable using mechanical and electrical power tools
    • Excellent problem-solving skills
    • Keen attention to detail
