- Performing physical exams, diagnosing, ordering diagnostic tests and referral consultations, prescribing medication, treating diseases and other health conditions.
- Experience with clinical appointments
- Follow up and interpretation of Labs/Imaging/Procedures ordered during appointments (patient encounter)
- Collaborative phone call consultations with hospitalists and intensivists
- Performing case reviews with nurse practitioners on service
- Providing family practice and interventional family practice consultative services for assessment, diagnostic workup clinic intervention, comprehensive patient assessment, health history, and patient education to outpatients scheduled and unscheduled veterans.
- Recording/documenting health appraisal information, clinical assessments, treatment decisions, plan of care, ongoing management, and therapeutic outcomes
- Using electronic comprehensive patient record system (CPRS)
- Experience working with veteran patients of all ages
- Ability to lift 35+ lbs., per OSHA recommendations
- VHA-approved Basic Life Support (BLS) certified or equivalency
- Family Practice Certified
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications from the American Heart AssociationTM
- Board certified by the ANC
- Current unencumbered license in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia.
