The department coordinator will perform a variety of administrative and clerical tasks for the University Events Department. Supports day-to-day departmental operations, assigned projects and events.

Examples of Key Responsibilities:

  • Manages the Faculty Lodge (on campus 8 room hotel); processes reservations, check in and check out, manages guest supply inventory and arranges housekeeping
  • Performs a variety of administrative duties, e.g., ordering office supplies, distributing mail, obtaining signatures, processing payments and expense requests. May prepare packets of information, meeting minutes, and other information for targeted audiences. May serve as receptionist/front desk greeter.
  • Coordinates and schedules small meetings and events, with responsibility for all related logistics.
  • Acts as a frontline resource to respond to questions about departmental operations, databases or projects, or assignments.
  • May serve as point person to vendors for creation, information and distribution of information.
  • May assist in providing daytoday direction and assistance to student workers.

Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree plus 13 years experience
  • Computer literate, proficiency with word processing, data entry and spread sheets.
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments in a very busy and often stressful environment. Strong organizational skills.
