What you are empowered to accomplish:
We are looking for an experienced professional to lead a variety of water quality modeling projects. The projects involve simulating watersheds, streams, lakes and estuaries for waste loads, nutrients, brine discharge and a variety of contaminants. We are well-known in its expertise in water planning, water quality, National and Texas Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES and TPDES) permitting, and hydrodynamic and water quality modeling.

The Senior Water Quality Modeling Specialist will report to the Water Quality/Permitting Team Leader, who will provide ongoing guidance and mentorship.
Our Ideal Teammate:
Our ideal teammate will have an M.S. or Ph.D. in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering or a related science or engineering discipline. A minimum of 8 years of experience in the engineering consulting industry, related to surface water quality modeling, hydrodynamic and hydrologic modeling, geographic information systems (GIS), surface water chemistry, and computer programming, is strongly preferred.
In addition to traditional process-based models (such as QUAL2E, CE-QUAL-W2, WASP, EFDC), this role will have the opportunity to innovate by applying the latest developments in statistical/machine-learning/AI to advance water quality modeling. Working-level programming skills (regardless of whether in R, python, or other languages) are strongly preferred. Experience with water quality modeling software such as those mentioned above is highly desired.
The position is a full-time position. The ideal location for this position is in Austin, TX, however we are open to considering candidates across our current office locations (Fort Worth, Dallas, San Antonio, Lubbock, Corpus Christi, Denver, Durango, Orlando, Tampa, and Oklahoma City.
