Overview:

The Branch Manager is responsible for providing leadership to one of our unique branch locations throughout California and Nevada.

While having the responsibility for overall administration of their assigned branch, this position is also focused on the safety and career development of branch employees, in addition to helping the team provide top-notch customer service support.

Branch Managers must be comfortable multitasking, as priorities change daily.

They are also the stewards of company values in the branch, which means treating all employees and customers with respect and kindness.

Branch Managers work to maintain strong relationships between the branch and the sales team(s) to ensure all customer orders are fulfilled timely, efficiently and correctly.

Branch Managers are responsible for ensuring their assigned branch is correctly staffed, as well as evaluating ongoing training needs. They must be adept with recruiting, interviewing and hiring as well as be competent assessors of employee talent.

While taking the advice of the HR Department and the Assistant Branch Manager, the Branch Manager has the responsibility to ensure his branch is correctly staffed.

This is an exempt position.


Responsibilities:


  • The Branch Manager is the ultimate authority for enforcing the safety standards in the branch and overseeing staff. This includes continuously encouraging the use of Stop Work Authority. Is also responsible for leading monthly safety meetings and participating in safety audits. Works directly with Safety team when injuries occur to assist in evaluating necessary actions to follow.
  • Oversees the branch inventory process, which includes helping the team keep inventory system up to date with accurate product counts, and ensuring all employees who interact with inventory complete paperwork correctly.
  • Oversees systems to ensure branch executes all customer orders correctly from multiple avenues, including customers contacting the branch, the sales team, and partner branches needing support.
  • Recognize employee achievements and encourage excellence in the work environment while providing regular performance feedback through completing quarterly performance reviews, monthly feedback meetings and safety reviews.
  • Act as an advocate for employees' career development.
  • Work with other branch leadership members to manage disciplinary process. Is the final decisionmaker regarding terminations and disciplinary action, but seeks input from internal management team. Is responsible for documenting all meetings in the company HRIS system.
  • Utilize various Trench Shoring Company systems which include HRIS software, ELD systems, drive cam and rental software. Other programs may be added as needed.
  • Responsible for all staffing within the branch. Works with HR team to recruit, interview and hire timely, but also efficiently. Be able to quickly assess performance and make changes as needed.
  • Work directly with sales team to anticipate, and plan, for large or longterm orders.
  • Identify and resolve customer disputes within 72 hours and understand when to escalate issues to dispute resolutions team.
  • As a servicebased company in the construction industry, the Branch Manager is responsible for the operations and responsiveness of the branch 24/
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:


Qualifications:


  • Bachelors degree preferred or an equivalent of 58 years of relevant work experience in management, construction, inventory, or a related industry.
  • Must have previous experience managing a diverse workforce which includes nonexempt and exempt employees, across varied departments. Able to use tools to effectively discipline and develop employees.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, and problem solving skills.
  • Must possess a valid Class C Driver's License issued by the California Department of Motor Vehicles which must be eligible to be added to the Trench Shoring Company insurance policy.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively across a variety of work environments and have strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Time management skills to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate and solve practical problems.
  • Spanish language is preferred, but not required.
