As the Emerging Technology / ITS Project Manager at AECOM, you will play a key role in managing projects that optimize revenue through intelligent transportation systems, focusing on tolling and road user charging technologies located in Orange, CA (Remote).

Reporting directly to the Emerging Technology/ITS Revenue Lead, you will coordinate project activities, manage resources, oversee budgets, and ensure that project milestones are met on schedule.

Your effective management skills will support the seamless integration of innovative technologies into transportation infrastructure projects across the West Coast.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Manage the planning, execution, and closure of ITS projects to ensure they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
  • Define project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Manage resource allocation and develop detailed project plans to track progress.
  • Handle changes to project scope, schedule, and costs using appropriate verification techniques.
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Report and escalate to management as needed.
  • Maintain client and stakeholder relationships.
  • Conduct risk management to minimize project risks.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Maintain and expand industry presence including actively participating in professional organizations

Qualifications Minimum Requirements**:


  • BA/BS + at least 4 years of project management experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Qualification:


  • Demonstrated experience in managing ITS projects, specifically in Road User Charging.
  • Solid technical background, with handson experience in software development and web technologies.
  • Excellent clientfacing and internal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, including attention to detail and multitasking abilities.
  • Proven leadership capabilities and experience in managing teams.
  • Capacity to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

  • This position may require up to 30% travel.
