Description

The primary responsibility for the Assistant Food and Beverage Manager is to lead the venue team with great customer service skills.

The Assistant Manager will communicate directly with the teams and ensure that team associates understand and meet department goals.

This role will act as a bridge between management and hourly associates to facilitate department operations (e.g., keep managers appraised of hourly associate activities, issues, challenges, etc.).

Additional responsibilities involving administrative, cash management, and other leadership roles will be added to an Assistant Manager's job during long-term development.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Ensures setup on time with adequate amounts of product prepared and stocked
  • Inspects workstations, work areas, equipment, etc. to ensure company safety and Health Code standards, as well as mínimal waste and product deterioration
  • Shows continual floor presence during events; observes the assigned operations to ensure guest hospitality, timeliness, and loss prevention standards are met
  • Records production and operational data on specified forms as assigned by the GM or company
  • Assists GM in inventory management, payroll operations, reporting and cash management as directed
  • Analyzes and communicates with GM operational problems such as overproduction, waste and theft
  • Work with management to ensure that hourly associates clearly understand their job roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations (ongoing and during new hire training)
  • Address guest concerns, requests, or issues either individually or by enlisting the help of the GM
  • Gives constructive, workrelated feedback to hourly and supervisor associates
  • Handles fundamental HR issues, enlisting the GM when appropriate or necessary
  • Collaborates with management to develop and carry out ideas and procedures to continuously improve the department performance
  • Ensures fair treatment as an hourly associate's first point of contact
  • Conducts daytoday shifts or oversees department operations as assigned by management (e.g., conduct shift briefings, ensure shift coverage)
  • Serves as an individual contributor and department role model by performing technical or functional job duties (e.g., checkin/out, food preparation, room preparation)
  • Maintains safety and sanitation of guests and employees. Communicates potential hazards to GM for immediate attention and ensure incident reports are generated as needed
  • Enforces Zero Tolerance Policy on underage drinking at all times.

Qualifications:

  • Some experience managing a team or operation (prior company or internally); demonstrated desire to lead
  • Strong communicator with excellent service skills demonstrated by ability the to interact successfully with a variety of people
  • Must be selfmotivated, with excellent time management, organizational and planning skills
  • Ability to work unsupervised as a shift/event manager
  • Ability to make timely and competent decisions
  • Knows the market/business or similar market/business
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Basic knowledge of Health Department requirements, Human Resources standards and general Safety expectations
  • Ability to work the hours required by business needs

$42, $70,000.00 per year
