    Description
    Numerica's DevSecOps Engineers excel at developing state-of-the art algorithms and software that solve scientific problems with real-world applications. Working in small innovative teams, our software engineers build solutions that make a difference.

    Our research endeavors don't end once we've written a journal or conference paper describing our technology; rather, our work is complete when our technology has been deployed in mission-critical systems and our customers within government and industry are successful.

    As science fiction writer Arthur Clarke wrote, "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." Numerica is seeking talented "magicians" to join in our mission to expand the boundary of what's possible.


    What you will do:
    Work as part of Numerica's software development team to define and implement build, deployment and monitoring processes and tools;

    Develop end-to-end automation of testing and deployment pipelines for software being delivered into critical Department of Defense systems;

    Work collaboratively with vendors and Numerica's IT team to resource and improve support infrastructure for unclassified and classified development environments;

    Monitor and support all installed systems and infrastructure;

    Develop custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks;

    Contribute to the design of information and operational support systems;

    Organize the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability, acting proactively;

    Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools;

    Support development of the company's security, backup, and redundancy strategies.

    Improve software security posture by developing and integrating processes and tools to support vulnerability analysis and mitigation.


    Recommended Background and Experience:
    BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or another related area;

    Solid experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting UNIX/Linux based environments;

    Software development experience for Department of Defense customers;

    Demonstrated experience with secure development, coding, engineering practices;

    Experience with building, debugging, securing and deploying C++ applications;

    Experience with fully automating CI/CD pipelines end-to-end, from code commits to production;

    Have effective verbal and non-verbal communication with peers and customers;

    Strong scripting and automation skills;

    Experience with obtaining and maintaining ATOs for classified systems


    A DevSecOps Engineer should have effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey salient details about processes and technology in a compelling manner to both experts and non-experts alike.

    U.S. Citizenship Required
    Due to the nature of the work performed at Numerica, all applicants must be capable of obtaining a U.S. Security Clearance. At a minimum, this requires that a candidate be a U.S.

    citizen with a personal history indicating trustworthiness, reliability, and sound judgment (e.g., clean criminal record, no use of illegal drugs, etc.).
