Revolution Workshop is a nonprofit social enterprise that provides construction workforce development for unemployed or underemployed people in partnership with area businesses.
Job Summary
The Director of Development provides strategic fundraising vision for the organization while implementing all related tactical work necessary to achieve established goals.
This role works in partnership with the Executive Director, senior leaders, Grant Writing Consultant, Board of Directors, and org-wide staff to develop, implement, and continuously improve the systems and channels that fuel the organization's work.
Direct Reports
- This position reports directly to the Executive Director.
- Upon completion of a successful 90day review, this individual will be responsible for hiring and managing the Development and Communications Coordinator.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Development (90%):
- Shape, manage, and implement overall fundraising strategy—in coordination with the Executive Director, Grant Writing Consultant, and other relevant stakeholders—to support the organization's priorities and strategic initiatives
This role will:
- Craft and implement creative and compelling individual, major giving, and annual giving campaigns to expand the base of supporters.
- Oversee the private and government grant funding pipeline, including the work of the Grant Writing Consultant, and contribute via relationship management and drafting select grants and reports.
- Develop and implement—in partnership with Executive Director and Business Services Manager—strategies and tactics to secure corporate sponsorships.
- Lead and project manage fundraising events.
- Provide strategic guidance and support to staff and board leadership in their work to build fundraising relationships and partnerships, including crafting materials to be used by staff and board.
- Oversee the organization's use of Salesforce for nonprogrammatic efforts, and manage all data entry and reporting related to fundraising efforts, including donations, grants, sponsorships, etc.
- Evaluate and continuously improve fundraising strategies and efforts communications (5%):
- Oversee the communications efforts of the organization, including developing a high-level communications strategy that drives investments and partnerships, in collaboration with organization, board leadership, and related contractors.
- Manage implementation of Social Media.
- Hire for and manage the organization's Development and Communications Coordinator.
- Participate in organization's highlevel strategic planning and identification of key priorities.
- Collaborate with leadership team and other relevant staff to develop and articulate the organization's value proposition and priorities.
- Support the organization's measurement and evaluation work, including tracking against and reporting out on key performance indicators.
- Analyze and interpret internal data and external research to support planning and development of orgwide initiatives.
- Serve as an externalfacing member of leadership when called upon.

Qualifications:

Required_
- A minimum of seven years of experience in nonprofit development and fundraising, with increasing levels of responsibility.
- Experience cultivating relationships with donors, major investors, funders, community partners, and more, Experience managing giving campaigns from inception to completion.
- Strong understanding of the Institutional Giving Landscape in the region.
