We are looking for a Pharmacy Clerk to provide excellent customer service to our patients and medical offices. This position will be responsible for answering all incoming calls. Work with patients and nurses to handle payments and any other information the pharmacy may need.

When not working with customers, this position will prepare shipments of medications, along with verifying the correct medication and shipping address of the recipient.

Essential functions

• Greet customers as they come to the pharmacy.
• Answer phone calls.
• Collect payment and insurance information.
• Give orders to customers.
• Keep the shelves organized and clean.
• Complete regular inventory checks.
• Keep up to date inventory for all shipping supplies.
• Keep in contact with the shipping vendor of any price changes and inform management aware of any changes.
• Make phone calls to patients and nurses confirm address.
• Call nurses and caregivers confirming medications and confirm all information for delivery.
• Report any misconduct, suspicious or unethical activities to the general manager.
• Understand and execute all product flow and order fulfillment processes.
• Restock supply cart for next business day.
• Maintain equipment and/or supplies for shipping.
• Maintain a safe, clean and professional work environment.
• Represent the pharmacy in a professional and courteous manner in all job-related activities.
• Assist with maintaining adequate inventory levels, and improving inventory handling, space allocation, and order efficiency; inform supervisor of items to be ordered.
• Receive shipments and review for accuracy.
• Participate in surveys conducted by authorized inspection agencies.
• Participate in the pharmacy's Performance Improvement program as requested by the pharmacy manager and/or pharmacist in charge.
• Participate in pharmacy committees when requested.
• Participate in in-service education programs provided by the pharmacy.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED certificate
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Cashier or customer service experience
• Pharmacy experience a plus
• Ability to evaluate options and make efficient decisions.
• Effective interpersonal, and time management
• Organizational skills

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Pay:
From $18.00 per hour
