Responsibilities

As a commercial clerk for freight forwarding and logistics services (m/f/d), you will be employed in various areas at PortGround GmbH, such as freight documentation, customs team, accounting, or customer service. You will learn about the company structure, logistical business processes, and our range of services. In the different areas, you will acquire commercial, logistical, organizational, and business knowledge. Working on the computer is just as essential as communicating effectively with colleagues, superiors, and customers.

You can expect a 3-year apprenticeship at Leipzig/Halle Airport. We will train you in calculating prices, creating freight and customs documents, and monitoring order processing. You will also learn how to handle customer complaints and how warehouse processes and customs procedures work. You will support the organization of shipping, handling, and storage of goods. During your apprenticeship, you will also monitor the interaction of those involved in a logistics chain: shippers, freight or transport and handling companies, warehouse operators, insurance companies, and end customers. You will also be introduced to specific application programs (MS Office and freight-specific programs for freight/customs clearance) on the PC.

Requirements
  • You have at least a good to very good secondary school leaving certificate or (vocational) diploma as well as very good knowledge of German and mathematics.
