BASIC PURPOSE:


The Saw Operator ensures smooth production operation during shift by interpreting MRP information and planning schedules to stage, load, and unload finished products and raw materials.

This position also stocks and maintains cell inventory and makes adjustments to production workflow as needed to adapt to schedule and material issues.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reads drawings to determine required sizes, saw cut lengths, and material type.
  • Sets up and operates saw to cut various sizes and types of material to meet production needs.
  • Follows machine shop schedule.
  • Distributes materials to meet daily demand for machine production.
  • Follows standard maintenance schedules for daily upkeep equipment.
  • Assists supervisor in production line operation in accordance with plant policies and procedures.
  • Tracks and enters data into MRP and Excel spreadsheets.
  • Supports cell operations to meet shift production goals.
  • Communicates with Manufacturing Manager for problem orders /or special circumstance.
  • Ensures a clean and safe work environment. (5S)
  • Prints appropriate paperwork and part drawings.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma preferred.
years' experience in a manufacturing environment to include knowledge of manufacturing processes, procedures and machinery.

  • Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds required.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of up to eight or more hours at a time.
  • Must be able to work in noisy environment.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision and the ability to distinguish between subsets of individual colors and quality of colors.
  • Be able to work overtime if required.
