General Information:

The Office of Admissions seeks an Administrative Assistant.

The mission of the Office of Admissions is to support the University's commitment to excellence by recruiting, accepting, and enrolling those students who are able to contribute to and benefit from the University's challenging array of academic and extracurricular programs.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Provides advanced administrative and clerical support of the highest professional level for the Director of Admissions and the Office of Admissions.
  • Provides administrative support for the Director of Admissions including maintaining all Director's correspondence with applicants, serving as primary point of contact to answer the Director's phone, and maintaining the Director's calendar.
  • Serves as the primary contact to answer questions from departments, the President's office, Vice Presidents' offices, prospective students and their families, guidance counselors, on behalf of the Director.
  • Coordinates all department travel by scheduling and ordering vehicles. Communicates with travel agencies, high school guidance counselors and college fair colleagues.
  • Manages departmental travel budget.
  • Coordinates the review process for applicants recommended for admission; administers the process for admitted students requesting deferrals.
  • Serves as backup to the Senior Administrative Assistant/Budget Officer.

Qualifications:


  • Required Qualifications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively and professionally with multiple customer bases.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work assignments.
  • Budget management experience.
  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Additional Considerations

  • General knowledge of admissions and the college environment.
  • Knowledge of university used systems eVA, AiM, and Chrome River.
  • Knowledge of the PeopleSoft Programs (Student Administration system and Finance).

Conditions of Employment:
