    MTH Industries is a 137-year-old Chicago based construction company that offers an extensive range of services that include ornamental metals, glass, structural steel, decorative floor coatings, concrete floor polishing, floor leveling, fireproofing and spray insulation.

    Some of our most recognized projects include The Bean, a 110-ton stainless steel sculpture in Millennium Park, the Ledge the glass observatory boxes on the 103rd floor of Willis Tower and the new Apple Flagship Store on Michigan Avenue.


    We are seeking a Senior Project Manager/Estimator to be responsible for the estimating, sale and project management of spray-applied fireproofing and insulation projects, the Project Manager/Estimator communicates with General Contractors and end users to provide value and service for new ground-up, renovation and remodel projects consisting of the smallest patching projects to large interior buildouts to major steel framed structures.

    This is a great opportunity for candidates skilled in construction estimating and sales.

    The position is full time with an excellent benefit package including health insurance, 401k plan, paid time off and paid holidays.

    Salary commensurate with experience and performance base bonuses.


    Responsibilities include:
    Preparing accurate estimates and proposals with quantity takeoffs, material pricing and labor costs from Structural and Architectural plans and specifications

    Review contracts and schedules and negotiate revisions.

    Define & quantify scope of work.

    Attend pre-bid meetings and conduct site inspections as appropriate.

    Provide design and budget assistance to customers.

    Build rapport with customers by maintaining a high level of visibility, efficiently and effectively responding to customer needs.

    Maintain involvement by uncovering sales opportunities with prospective and existing customers.

    Collaborate with and review work of other Project Managers/Estimators

    Use established business processes and software to achieve and track progress and results.

    Qualifications:

    5-10 years experience in fireproofing, insulation and/or coatings project cost estimating

    Excellent communication, problem solving and decision-making skills.

    Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects at once.

    Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office

    Have and maintain a reliable form of transportation.

    Present self professionally in attitude and attire


    Valued but not required:
    BS degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Experience with cost estimating/takeoff tools.
