    About the Position:


    The Risk and Safety Coordinator (WC) is responsible for reducing workers' compensation costs by managing and mitigating workplace-related injuries and illnesses, effectively assist in handling workers' compensation claims, ensuring compliance with regulations, and fostering a safety culture within the organization.

    Bachelor's degree in related field required.

    Responsibilities:
    Develops and oversees workplace safety programs and initiatives including OSHA-related written programs and conduct necessary training.

    Identifies and analyzes potential hazards and workers' compensation data to recognize trends and patterns in workplace injuries, in order to develop strategies to reduce injuries and contain costs.

    Conducts regular workplace safety inspections to identify and address hazards that could lead to injuries or illnesses. Collaborates with managers to ensure corrective actions are taken.

    Develops and maintains expertise in OSHA and Workers Compensation statutes and ensures compliance with Federal, and State legal requirements, studying existing and new legislation; obtaining qualified opinions; ensuring adherence to requirements.

    Develops and implements return-to-work programs that help injured employees' transition back to work in a safe and timely manner. These programs may include modified duty assignments or accommodations.

    Supports the Workers Compensation process:

    work with the Total Rewards Team; responding to Workers Compensation-related questions and issues; Alternate Duty/Return to Work Program policies and procedures; monitoring and updating the Alternate Duty Program; ensuring compliance with workers compensation statutes and regulations; leading/participating in workers compensation case reviews; performing ergonomic assessments; investigating reported hazards and health and safety incidents.

    Facilitates or participates in safety committees or teams within the organization to promote a culture of safety and involve employees in safety initiatives.

    Completes and reviews health and safety risk assessments as required by Oak Hill, collecting, and analyzing documentation, statistics, reports, and market trends.

    Coordinates processes related to COVID such as the N95 Mask Fitting, Testing, Tracking of Vaccines.
    Supports the Senior Director of Facilities with OSHA process.
    Ensures completion of required OSHA recordkeeping and reporting.
    Coordinates the safe driving program for the organization.

    Develops and maintains thorough knowledge of those computer systems used in relation to the position to facilitate effective continuation of related functions.

    Creates and maintains documents, systems, and processes to establish/support Health and Safety electronic management system(s).
    Coordinates entry of employee WC related status information and medical data in the Human Resource System.
    Creates regular health and safety management information packs.

    Participates in reviews and assessment of risk management policies and protocols; makes recommendations and implements modifications and improvements; recommends and implements risk management solutions such as safety business continuity plans, or recovery measures.

    Oversees relationships with workers' compensation insurance carriers, medical providers, and other vendors involved in the workers' compensation process.
    Maintains full confidentiality regarding employee information.
    Contributes to team effort by completing related tasks as needed.
