The American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) is seeking a full-time
Digital Marketing Specialist (37.50 hours per work week)
.


The
Digital Marketing Specialist position plays an integral part in ABMS' digital marketing and communications strategy to strengthen its brand awareness and leadership role in the marketplace.

As a key member of the highly collaborative Marketing & Communications team, this person develops, implements, and distributes high quality communications across multiple websites and other digital channels, and consistently monitors and analyzes the performance of all communications to inform future strategies.

This is an exempt position on the ABMS Marketing & Communications team.

Established in 1933, ABMS is responsible for the creation of standards overseeing physician certification in the United States.

Dedicated to improving the quality of care to the patients, families, and communities they serve, the 24 ABMS Member Boards develop educational and professional standards and programs of assessment to certify physicians and medical specialists.

More than 985,000 physicians and medical specialists are certified by one or more of the ABMS Member Boards in one or more of 40 specialties and 89 subspecialties.

Position Responsibilities

Content Management (50%)

  • Create, manage, prepare, and post content on multiple ABMS websites, Microsoft Teams, and thirdparty platforms;
  • Review then update or remove outdated web content, with guidance from internal stakeholders;
  • Create and monitor forms on ABMS websites;
  • Manage websites to support digital ad campaigns and optimize for SEO and keywords;
  • Provide customer service to internal staff for digital project support.

Development, Maintenance, and Support (15%)

  • Working independently and with thirdparty vendor(s), manage the ongoing development, maintenance, and support of ABMS websites;
  • Develop, maintain, and support project management workflows;
  • Lay out web pages following established templates;
  • Optimize websites for image quality and page download speed;
  • Upload, tag, edit, and maintain videos on YouTube;
  • Insert/maintain metadata on new media files on all sites
  • PDFs, images, etc.
  • Code HTML in WordPress and thirdparty platforms (including Cadmium event platform, Squarespace, Mailchimp, Constant Contact);
  • Maintain digital assets;
  • Serve as primary liaison with web vendors;
  • Manage site or section redesigns on multiple ABMS domains;
  • Provide technical assistance and training for internal team to support websites and workflows;
  • Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget;
  • Prepare and maintain howto documentation for related tasks;

Project Management and Processes (15%)

  • In partnership with Marketing & Communications team, develop and manage the content workflow, approval, and posting processes;
  • Advise and support colleagues to optimize content for digital publication;
  • In partnership with Information Services and web hosting vendors, maintain and follow best practices for site security and monitor ABMS domains for possible risks;
  • In partnership with Information Services Department, ensure reliability and security of data made available through ABMS channels.

Metrics (15%)

  • Monitor form submissions and route when needed; provide reports and analysis.

Strategy (5%)

  • Develop and manage a unified ABMS web and digital strategy;
  • Build and maintain a strong ABMSbranded digital presence;
  • Ensure the ABMS digital presence remains current with established technology trends;
  • Monitor and recommend new digital technology opportunities, as appropriate.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree, with an emphasis on marketing, communications, design, or related fields — preferred.

EXPERIENCE

Required

  • At least four years of handson web and digital marketing experience, including extensive use of WordPress;
  • Knowledge of basic HTML coding;
  • Experience creating and managing website reports, including Google Analytics;
  • Demonstrated editing and proofreading skills; copywriting skills a plus;

Preferred

  • Experience with associations, medical societies, certifying organizations, or health care industry preferred;
  • Experience working with outside resources, such as web vendors;
  • Experience using Microsoft 365;
  • Familiarity with Squarespace and/or other content management platforms.
