Job Summary:
We are in search of a Medical Director to work on a full time basis and provide medical and clinical oversight to our outpatient behavioral health clinics as well as a diverse range of behavioral health services throughout the agency.
The Medical Director is accountable to the Chief Operating Office and the VP of Behavioral Health and Recovery Services, and is responsible for providing supervision, support, training and quality oversight of assigned programs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Reviewing health care law and regulations applicable to mental health and substance useDirects and supervises the work of the clinical and medical team including physicians, advanced practice nurse and registered nursesUtilizing healthcare law and regulations to formulate division and agency specific policy and proceduresPromotes use of evidence-based practices by medical staff and ensure medical services meet regulatory agencies and accrediting organizations standardsLiaising with medical and non medical departments and enchancing relationship with vendorsApplies clinical and administrative skills to guide the programs in providing high level careParticipates in Risk Review Meetings and Adverse Event Reviews as neededReviewed medical data to identify areas for improvement and participate in the development of clinical programsProvides direct services to children and adultsSupports and implements agency strategic initiative including the expansion of medication assisted treatment
Minimum Qualifications:
MD/DO required and board certification/board eligibility in psychiatryAt least five years of professional experience in the mental health or human services fields required with at least three years at a supervisory level.
