- Conducting outreach to individuals experiencing homelessness in the community.
- Completing necessary documentation for shelter intake and HUD related funding.
- Assisting with check in procedures at the Homeless Services Center.
- Providing crisis intervention services to clients in need.
- Assisting with the operation of the
- Collaborating with community partners to ensure clients receive comprehensive services.
- Participating in regular team meetings and trainings to ensure the provision of high-quality services.
- Have the customer services skills needed to work with a vulnerable population-including those experiencing mental health or substance use issues.
- They will have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Will be able to work collaboratively with a diverse group of clients and community partners.
- Experience working in a homeless shelter.
- BA in Social Work or Equivalent is Preferred, but not required.
- A valid Class C Driver's license is required.

HUMAN SERVICES SPECIALIST, HOMELESS SERVICES CENTER
Health and Human Services Department - Social Services Division - Homeless Services Center - Deadline Extended -Permanent, Full-Time (37.5 hours per week) - The Schedule is Sunday-Thursday, 3:00 pm-11:30 pm.
In addition to a monthly two-hour staff meeting is required -The City of Portland is seeking a Human Services Specialist for our Homeless Services Center.
As a Human Services Specialist, you will be responsible for providing direct services to individuals experiencing homelessness in the Portland area.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Homeless Services Center:
Including managing client files, maintaining accurate records, completing General Assistance Applications, and more.

Salary & Benefits:
CEBA Union position - Grade 1- Pay range starting at $21.69/hour. Additionally, a $2.00/hour shift differential is paid for all weekend hours and nights after 7PM.
