Summary:


This position is primarily responsible for the daily activities of the Toll Maintenance technicians as part of the Toll Operations Team.

The Toll Maintenance supervisor's responsibility includes the configuration, installation, maintenance, and general administration of all end-user technologies.


This direct responsibility includes but is not limited to, providing technical advice on repairs and general daily direction as needed.

It is the technicians' first resource in the chain of command.


Relationships:


  • Directly report to Toll Maintenance Manager
  • Works closely with IT, Vendors, Traffic Management Center (TMC) and Toll Operations Team

Responsibilities:


  • Performs all tasks safely, complies with all internal and external safety requirements, supports ITRCC safety culture, attends all safety training, and completes all compliance training as required by ITRCC.
  • Uphold ITRCC's core values: Customer Service, Respect, Excellence, Stewardship and Teamwork (CREST).
  • Provide leadership and support to the "Safety" culture through all ITRCC activities.
  • Directs, coordinates, and reviews the activities of the Toll Maintenance staff.
  • Provide direct support and guidance for technicians assigned to the team. This support is in the form of technical, administration and direct intervention.
  • Coordinates the maintenance and installation of:
  • Automatic ticket Issuing and toll payment machine equipment, ensuring the functionality and availability of these systems
  • Treadles, loops, and laser classification devices and investigate reports of inaccuracies associated with these devices

Local area network (LAN), video, and other discrete signaling devices:

Future technologies, including surveillance, intelligent transportation systems, and electronic toll-collection technologies:

  • Reviews and evaluates technicians' daily work, including closing all calls for service by the end of the working shift unless prevented by extraordinary circumstances.
  • Schedule, direct, build, and inspect the technicians' corrective maintenance and preventative maintenance duties.
  • Manage spare equipment, including return material authorization (RMA), shipping, inventory updating, and audits.
  • Monitor system health of toll equipment
  • Coordinates with other departments to troubleshoot equipment, technologies, outages, scheduled downtimes, etc.
  • Assist with systems installation efforts.
  • Available 24/7 for callout and can travel to affected locations as required.
  • Available for Oncall rotation for afterhours support escalations.
  • Assist in project management.
  • Regular, reliable attendance.
  • Performs other duties are required.

Qualifications:


  • Associate's degree in Information System Technology or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of standard electronic theories, methods, procedures, materials, tools, and a wide range of test equipment.
  • Working knowledge and ability to utilize repair manuals, schematics, parts catalogs, and online resources.
  • Ability to read and understand complicated technical manuals on hardware and software.
  • Familiarity with and competence in all aspects of personal computer use from a technician's perspective.
  • Thorough knowledge of technology equipment, including operating characteristics and limitations.
  • Thorough knowledge of most recent technical developments in the hardware field.
  • Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
  • Valid driver's license

Desirable Experience:


  • 57 years of relevant experience within the IT field
  • Direct experience working directly with electronic tolling technology

  • Local travel time required may be up to 10% overnight travel.
  • There is a rotational oncall technical support structure that is 24 hours, seven days a week, about one week per calendar month.
