Duties:


  • Performs a variety of routine manual tasks in a kitchen or dining area following established procedures.
  • Sets up glasses, silverware, dishes, trays, napkins, condiments and cold menu items such as salads, desserts, breads, and cold beverages on a serving line or tables.
  • Removes dishes and trays from tables after meals. Washes tables and counters. Stores clean dishes, glasses and silverware. Vacuums and shampoos carpets; sweeps and mops kitchen floors. Cleans windows and washes walls.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Conditions of Employment:


  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Medical examination is required.
  • Must be willing to accept a varying or rotating shift to include nights, weekends and holidays.
  • This position is eligible to receive gratuities (tips) based on the type of event(s) and performance.

Qualifications:


  • Must have knowledge of basic food handling techniques, personal hygiene standards and safe work procedures. Must have the ability to perform routine manual tasks involving few steps, and be able to read and understand written material. Must have knowledge of basic arithmetic such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals.

PCS Costs

  • Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.

FWS Allowances and Differentials

  • This is a federal wage schedule (FWS) position.
  • All FWS employees are entitled to overtime work for work in excess of 8 hours in a day or in excess of 40 hours in the administrative workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee.

Incentives and Bonuses

  • Incentives will not be paid.

Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances

  • Nonforeign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
