Job Description

-Join CDM Smith in Raleigh, and make a difference by working on a fantastic team supporting state and municipal highway design projects as well as project delivery throughout North Carolina and the Southeast region.

-Performing interchange/highway design, roadway widening, roundabout/superstreet design, and low impact bridge replacement. Producing construction bid plans and documents, writing roadway design reports, preparing construction cost estimates & design specifications, as well as coordinating with our clients.

-Will have the opportunity to provide technical guidance and training to more junior staff as well as reviewing the work of more junior staff.

Minimum Qualifications

-Bachelor's degree in Civil, Transportation, or Structural Engineering or related discipline.

-3 years of related experience.

-Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.

Preferred Qualifications

-EIT with the desire to achieve PE within 2 years.

-Familiarity with NCDOT roadway design. Municipal roadway design a plus.

-Strong preference for candidates with OpenRoads experience.

-Microstation and Corridor Modeling experience.

-AutoCAD Civil 3D experience a plus.

-Experience with the development of construction bid documents for NCDOT and/or municipalities.

-Technical writing experience including project special provisions, design reports, functional design reports, and technical memorandums.
