About Andesite:

Andesite is an analyst-obsessed cybersecurity company that's committed to improving the capabilities and efficiencies of overburdened cyber defense teams. With its advanced technology, Andesite empowers cybersecurity teams and their analysts to better predict threats, prioritize and allocate resources, and take preemptive actions to prevent or mitigate attacks. In April 2024, Andesite launched from stealth out of Red Cell Partners, an incubation firm that builds and invests in rapidly scalable technology-led companies that are bringing revolutionary advancements to market in healthcare, cyber, and national security.

Location: Washington D.C. Metro Area, Remote

At Andesite, we are building a product suite to supercharge cyber security analysts. As a backend engineer, you will be responsible for building technology that can analyze and enrich large volumes of data to support our product capabilities.

What You Will Do:

Design and implement robust backend solutions to handle complex data
Develop, scale, and optimize our machine learning infrastructure
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, partners, and customers to understand needs, offer insights, and tailor data systems to meet these needs
Build our next generation of data processing and analysis systems

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
Minimum of 2 years of experience in backend engineering with expertise in data structures, algorithms, and software design
Proficiency in programming languages like Python, Java, or C++
Experience with cloud-based solutions (AWS, GCP, Azure) and familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong desire to protect national security interests
Currently in the Washington DC area, able to relocate, or ability for frequent travel 25% of the time
Active or recent security clearance (TS/SCI)

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience in cybersecurity, especially pertaining to network or machine forensics
Experience with big data streaming technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, and Airflow or AWS equivalent such as EMR, Glue, Lakehouse, etc.
