The State of New Hampshire, Department of Corrections, Division of Rehabilitative Services has a part-time vacancy for a Retail Store Manager.
Summary:
To manage the operational aspects of the NH Correctional Industries Retail Store including but not limited to, sales, customer service, inventory and staff supervision.

36 Months of additional relevant experience = Bachelor's degree
54 Months of additional relevant experience = Master's degree
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Graduation from high school or G.E.D. equivalent. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.
Experience:
Three years' experience in a position involving public contact work and retail store experience, one year of which shall have been in a supervisory position.
License/Certification:
Must possess a valid NH driver's license.
Responsibilities:
- Works under the general supervision of the Administrator of Industries in managing daily store operations such as opening and closing the store, setting up merchandising displays and equipment, making deposits, and taking inventory.
- Supervises staff and inmate workers assigned to the retail store, prepares work and time schedules for employee job assignments, and reviews work of store personnel for accuracy.
- Provides routine training and guidance on merchandising techniques and customer relations to new store employees. Assumes responsibility for all levels of inventory control and security (fraud deterrence), accounts for stock, and maintains inventory, including anticipating sale items as necessary.
- Calculates totals of sales transactions, and prepares and makes bank deposits.
- Reviews computer printouts on stock and makes recommendations to improve inventory control.
- Assists in preparing regular and special reports covering sales, stock on hand, receipts of merchandise, cash receipts, deposits and other activities.
- Works with staff from Recreation and Career & Tech Ed. to accurately display, market and sell their products.
- Assumes responsibility for merchandising the retail sales area of the store, to include making determinations on special merchandise displays, keeping in mind customer preference and demand.
