    Position Purpose
    • Provide direct support to elementary behavior and special education classrooms for students with the most significant behavioral and mental health needs
    • The BCBA would be supervised by the district behavior specialist and elementary coordinator, both certified BCBAs.
    • The BCBA would have supervisory responsibilities for registered behavior technicians
    Essential Functions
    • Conduct Tier III FBAs and analyze behavioral patterns to collaboratively develop behavior support plans to reduce negative behaviors and increase student achievement
    • Collaborate with educational teams to provide expertise in the analysis of behavior problems
    • Collect, organize, and analyze data that assists with the development of Tier III individualized programming
    • Provide training/coaching for teachers in assigned classrooms
    • Provide training/coaching for paraprofessionals and/or Registered Behavior Technicians in assigned classrooms
    • Implement long-term maintenance plan for continued behavior supports
    • Supervise Registered Behavior Technicians in assigned classrooms
    • Collaborate with Ozark Guidance TDT and other outside agencies that serve BPS students concerning behavior plans
    • Partner with school counseling services, mental health providers and other support staff in order to positively affect student success
    • Maintain a strong commitment to team collaboration through Professional Learning Communities
    • Attend required staff and district meetings including PLC meetings
    • Participate in school wide events
    • Complete and participate in required building and district professional development activities
    Additional Duties
    Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.

    Travel Requirements
    Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
    • Understanding of behavioral characteristics associated with students who have significant behavioral needs
    • Successful experience in supporting students with significant behavioral needs
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, particularly with parents and education professionals
    • Ability to handle emotionally charged situations
    • Physical stamina and agility required to care for active children
    • Knowledge of trauma informed education practices
    • Works in standard office and school building environments
    • Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans
    • Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students
    • Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed
    • Ability to organize and coordinate work
    • Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth
    • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work
    Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards
    • Works in a public school setting
    • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
    • May occasionally be required to provide student behavior support by using appropriate restraint or seclusion techniques - for student safety purposes only
    • May occasionally be required to provide physical assistance to students in emergency evacuation or lockdown procedures
    • Must be capable of safely traversing all assigned areas of the school facility
    Certification/License
    Prefer Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification (or in process)

    Education
    Master's degree in education or related field

    Experience
    Prefer 5 years' experience in school psychology, teaching, or work with students with disabilities
