Materials Handler


The Materials Handler will work with company senior management to provide manufacturing and administrative support to engineering and operations teams.

The primary responsibility of a Materials Handler is to accurately and efficiently prepare items for shipment, production, ensuring they are properly packaged, labelled, and documented for delivery to designated destinations.

This role requires attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work Order Kitting: Receive and review customer orders, picking the correct items from inventory according to order specifications.
  • Packaging: Carefully and securely package items to prevent damage during transportation. Select appropriate packaging materials, such as boxes, bubble wrap, and packing peanuts.
  • Labelling: Affix accurate shipping labels, barcodes, and tracking numbers to packages to ensure correct identification and easy tracking. Maintain shipping logs and traceability on parts moved.
  • Inventory Management: Update inventory records to reflect items shipped and items remaining in stock. Maintain accurate stock levels to prevent shortages or overages.
  • Safety and Compliance: Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment. Adhere to shipping regulations and compliance requirements for hazardous materials, if applicable.
  • Communication: Collaborate with warehouse team members, supervisors, and customer service representatives to address any shippingrelated inquiries, issues, or special instructions.
  • Organization: Keep the shipping area clean, organized, and wellmaintained. Ensure that all tools, equipment, and supplies are readily available for efficient operations.
  • Support on diverse projects as needed.

Requirements:


  • High school diploma or equivalent (some positions may require additional education or training).
  • Basic computer skills for entering shipping data and tracking information.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate order fulfillment and packaging.
  • Physical ability to lift and move packages of varying weights.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with team members and external partners.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Knowledge of shipping regulations, carrier options, and safety protocols is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a warehouse, shipping, or logistics role is a plus.

$ $22.00 per hour
