- Understand and apply NSA and FIPS 140 requirements to cryptography products
- Apply Risk Management Framework Controls to a network/product/system
- Collaborate with software and hardware design engineers to meet certification standards
- Create design and testing documentation to verify implementation of requirements
- Lead NSA certification and FIPS 140 validation development activities
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to review design, implementation, and certification progress
- Demonstrate adaptability, prioritize timeliness, and participate in decision-making processes
- Pose inquiries and request clarification on unfamiliar concepts, designs, and implementation details
- Travel up to 25% as necessary
- Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience. Graduate Degree and at least 7 years of related experience. Alternatively, 13 years of relevant experience without a degree.
- Minimum of 4 years of cryptography-related experience or equivalent education such as a cryptography-focused Master's program
- Hold one of the certifications at hiring or secure one within 6 months: Associate of CISSP, CISSP, CCNA Security, CSA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP (DoD 8140/8570 qualified certifications)
- Ability to acquire and uphold a TS/SCI security clearance
- Proficient in technical writing
- Knowledgeable in communications systems, computer networking concepts, protocols (including TCP/IP), and security methodologies
- Familiar with security engineering principles, processes, design patterns, and technologies
- Skilled in problem-solving, creative thinking, and multitasking
- Experienced with RF communications
- Experience with diverse development teams and embedded systems engineering
- Understanding of JCIDS, DJSIG, NIACAP, FIPS 140-2 or 140-3, NSA certification
- Competent in high assurance crypto systems
- Government advisory/assistance in cybersecurity-related roles
- Familiarity with Agile development processes
- Various security or technical certifications: CISA, CISM, CEH, CPT, MCSE, CCNA, Red Hat, Network+, SANS GIAC, Security+, CCNP Security
- Knowledge of TEMPEST, Anti-Tamper, or other system security specialties

Position Overview:
As a Lead, Information Security Systems Engineer at L3Harris Technologies, you will be involved in the cryptography that enables communication capabilities for the warfighter. We are looking for individuals with expertise in cryptography design, development, and certification via FIPS 140, Risk Management Framework, and/or NSA certification processes. Our team consists of both seasoned and developing engineers in the cryptography field. We are searching for candidates who are prepared to contribute to a technically challenging and dynamic team.
