The Security Officer performs activities necessary to the provision of a safe and secure environment for employees, patients, and visitors of the hospital and to protect the assets of Community First.

At the discretion of the Supervisor, an Officer may also be assigned to perform supervisory duties as the Officer In Charge (O.I.C.).


_ Opportunity is for variable full time shifts and, weekends and holidays_

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Makes rounds, inside and outside of assigned areas as scheduled or assigned.
  • Report all unusual or suspicious incidents and initiating corrective action as appropriate.
  • Provides assistance to other security personnel, hospital employees.
  • Observes and documents the nonconformance of policies and procedures.
  • Accurately completes all paperwork as required (Daily Activity Sheet, Security Incident Reports.
  • Responds to calls from nursing and other hospital departments in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the management of disorderly patients and/or visitors and emergency codes.
  • Transports patients in wheelchairs and the release of deceased patients from the emergency room or morgue.
  • Accepts and releases patient's valuables and lost and found items as needed.
  • Responds to requests for additional manpower to cover shift shortages and special event staffing.
  • Escort visitors and staff to and from building if needed.

Requirements:

Education and/or Experience

  • Highly prefer experience in a helathcare environment
  • High School diploma or equivalent from an accredited program required
  • Must be 21 years old+
  • Must have CPR within 90 days of hire
  • Superior interpersonal skills
  • Team Player
