BASIC FUNCTION

  • The New Jersey Tutoring Corps Inc. provides highdosage tutoring for K through Grade 8 students in math and literacy to close learning gaps. The New Jersey Tutoring Corps seeks to hire tutors to work with scholars in the East Greenwich School District summer program. Tutors will work with small groups of scholars, typically in groups of 15, in grades K8 in building skills in math and literacy.


  • ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Engage with scholars to build on existing mathematics and/or literacy skills,
  • Complete daily records on scholar progress and site needs using the tools provided.
  • Use data to drive instruction.
  • Communicate regularly with your site coordinator to provide optimum learning
- experiences for scholars.

  • Participate in coaching from an instructional coach.
  • Use an assetbased approach in working with scholars.
  • Be responsive and work collaboratively with other tutors and site staff.
  • Complete all training.

EMPLOYER QUALIFICATIONS

  • Tutor must be able to:
  • Arrive to work on time,
  • Prepare lessons digitally,
  • Take attendance digitally and sit with students for 48 hours a day,
  • Clearly communicate instructions to students in grades K through
  • Professional skills include attention to detail, timely and proactive communication, and job preparedness;
  • Genuine desire to work with young children in a teaching capacity, building on foundational skills and closing learning gaps using formative and summative data and strong teaching pedagogy;
  • Experience working with young children, preferably in a learning and teaching capacity;
  • NJ Fingerprint Certificate and Background Clearance
  • The final offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check and employment authorization verification;
  • Must adhere to local health department and school district requirements for the site at which you are working, including any mask rules that must be followed if applicable. Tutor

  • Location: Jeffrey Clark School
  • 7 Quaker Rd Mickleton, NJ 0805 Morning hours availability am, 4 days a week (Monday Thursday)
  • Hours to not exceed 11 hours per week
  • Program ends 7/25/2025
