Description
Curtis is seeking a full-time summer day-camp Lifeguard to join a supportive, inclusive, and educational learning community as a member of the camp team.
Curtis School is a DK-6 co-ed elementary school whose mission is to "develop, in every child, a sound mind in a sound body, governed by a compassionate heart.
"Duties and Responsibilities
Include, but are not limited to:
- Instructs or assists classes in fundamentals of swimming.
- Supervises swimming activities at the pool area and ensures that policies, guidelines, and safety procedures are followed.
- Educates swimmers about improper activities and dangers and enforces pool regulations and water safety policies.
- Administers first aid in the event of injury; rescues swimmers in distress or in danger of drowning, and administers CPR and/or artificial respiration, if necessary.
- Evaluates conditions to assess safety and initiates aquatics emergency action plan as required.
- Inspects pool facilities, equipment, and water to ensure that they are safe and usable.
- Assists in monitoring and cleaning locker room area(s) and related facilities and equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Possess a current Lifeguarding Certificate from a Certified Trainer
- Possess a current CPR, First Aid certificate from a Certified Trainer
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Be available to work from June 29th, August 2nd, 202
- Be available to attend training days
- Be able to adhere to a 8:30 am 3:30 pm daily work schedule
