The Episcopal Vicariate is the central administrative authority of the Diocese of Hildesheim. The diocese extends from Cuxhaven to Hann. Münden and from the Weser to Saxony-Anhalt.

Prison Chaplain (f/m/d) at Rosdorf Correctional Facility

The Diocese of Hildesheim is seeking a Prison Chaplain for the Catholic prison ministry at Rosdorf Correctional Facility, starting as soon as possible.

The weekly working hours are 19.9 hours (part-time). The place of employment is the Rosdorf Correctional Facility.

As a chaplain, you will accompany incarcerated men, their families, and the staff of the Rosdorf Correctional Facility in their questions about life and faith.

The Rosdorf Correctional Facility has 340 prison places and all forms of detention, including preventive detention, are represented.

The high proportion of prison places in pre-trial detention presents a special challenge for pastoral care, both in terms of content and time.

You will work ecumenically with an evangelical and a Catholic chaplain.

You are officially attached to the Göttingen Deanery and in contact with the employees in pastoral care and local services.
