Description
Summary


Reporting to the Department Director, and under direct supervision of the Manager, collects waste products such as trash, soiled linen and biohazard waste from patient units and disposes of each according to established and approved procedures.

This position may also be required to perform Support Specialist duties on some occasions.

Education

High school education.

Certification, Registration & Licensure

None required.

Experience

Ability to read, write and understand labels and instructions. Good customer service skills. Prior experience in a health care facility, or large facility, cleaning and performing floor care is preferred.


Responsibilities:


  • Completes all required job specific training.
  • Completes daily Trash run as scheduled.
  • Completes daily Soiled Linen run as scheduled.
  • Completes daily Biohazard Waste run as scheduled.
  • Completes daily cleaning practices when assigned.
  • Cleans all equipment at the end of each shift and puts supplies away in the appropriate place.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

The employee is occasionally exposed to airborne contaminants, airborne pathogens, chemotherapeutic agents, radiation, and variable weather conditions.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
