Job Summary The Sr. SMT PCBA Process Engineer will be based in Austin, TX.In this role you will be responsible for process-engineering capabilities focused on cost, quality and delivery improvements in order to support the manufacturing organization.
Here is a glimpse of what you'll do...Understand the manufacturing process, technologies, techniques, and the productDefine, implement, and evaluate proposed designs and processes for manufacturabilityHave the capability to independently or together with other engineering stakeholders identify root causes of failures in the manufacturing processHigh level participation in daily production activities and effective problem solving on daily issuesPrepare justification, purchase, and implement capital equipment for productionSupport and oversee new process equipment productionSupport the raising and introduction of engineering change orders (ECOs)Establish robust, repeatable, and reproducible process parametersDevelop, implement, and take ownership of process control methodologiesTrouble shoot process related issuesParticipate in activities pertaining to cycle time and process improvementsEvaluate and select various engineered materialsImplement statistical process analysis on new and existing productsImplement safety, productivity, and yield improvementsImprove manufacturing techniques and through putProvide continuous development of manufacturing techniques that will improve in-house capabilities and yieldsDevelop and maintain process documentationReview processing methodsInterface with production of all activities associated with new process implementation and transferAssist in the development of training and provide training to production personnel during new technology transferProvide equipment maintenance and repair support as requiredLead cost improvement/reduction programsHere is some of what you'll need (required)...Minimum 8 years' experience in engineering in the high technology electronics industry or related areaExtensive experience on PCB Assembly, Surface Mount Technology and related processes (paste printing, SPI, SMD placement, dispensing, PoP, reflow, inspection, soldering)Strong experience with front end of process for PCBADeep understanding of bare board fabrication specsExtensive experience with SMT DFMPCBA miniaturization (Micro - CSP)01005BTCHere are a few examples of what you'll get for the great work you provide...
