Job Requirements
Education
Minimum requirement is High School completion certificate. Four-year College or Hospitality degree is preferred, and/or equivalent work experience
Brand certification programs are preferred
Experience Previous guest service experience essential, minimum 3 years
Prior hotel is preferred
Brand experience is preferred
Strong guest service skills required
Must have a valid driver's license from the applicable state
Physical Requirements
Long hours sometimes required.
Light work-Exerting up to 30 pounds of force occasionally, and /or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
Ability to stand for long hours at a time
Primary Objective of Position Manages hotel operations and supervises housekeeping staff, front office and maintenance functions. Assures operations are according to IHG Standards. Understands and implements the Mission, Vision and Core Values at all times.
Major Areas of Accountability
- Supervises front office, housekeeping and maintenance team members.
- Reviews daily front office procedures and assures proper transmission of all necessary information to the Home Office.
- Ensures proper training programs and procedures are in place in conjunction with the General Manager and according to system standards.
- Responsible for proper administration of keys.
- Responsible for knowing hotel emergency procedures.
- Manages inventory and assists General Manager with budget control.
- Inspects rooms and suites daily.
- Interviews and hires front office, housekeeping and maintenance team members.
- Conducts employee discipline with regard to housekeeping, maintenance and front office personnel.
- Ensures proper uniform standards are in place throughout departments.
- Accommodates guest special requests.
- Responsible for knowing area attractions and services in order to accommodate guest's needs.
- Responsible for knowing IHG services and amenities in order to accommodate guest's needs.
- Reviews room inventory front desk to sell & strategies to maximize room revenue.
- Monitors tracking of leads and results. Follows up with GM, RMH, AM to ensure that leads are actively managed and followed up on.
- Takes ownership of sales when GM is not available.
- Assists GM in maintaining accounts.
- Responsible for helping coach, train and motivate all members of the in-hotel team on their roles in the sales process.
- Ensures team member attitudes of attentiveness in meeting guest's needs.
- Promotes the company's core values through day to day operations.
- Oversees the daily operations of the hotel in the absence of the General Manager.
- Assists with any other tasks and projects as needed to complete daily hotel operations to provide and maintain excellent service and teamwork
- Completes any training requested by GM
