Paramus OPC- Registration
Per-Diem
Overview:
A highly visible, hands on, customer service position that is responsible for the reception of patients, families, and health care providers.
A Patient Access Specialist is expected to score in the top 5% of measurable categories within 6 months of hire.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service to all patients, visitors, and customers
- Prioritize and designate patient flow
- Verify insurance and obtain benefits
- Confirming all radiology services have been authorized prior to visits/communicating results with patients
- Triage phone calls and schedule appointments
- Respond to patient, visitor, and customer inquiries
- Obtain patient demographics, personal information, and medical history by interviewing patients
- Collect copayments
- Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein
- Screening Patient for COVID safety precautions
- Communication with Leadership regarding closing and opening shift precautions
- Position based in NJ however employee may need to travel across multiple sites
- This position requires cross coverage with multiple departments as well as to Saddle River office
Qualifications:
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree preferred; Diploma or equivalent with 3 years of experience
- Two years in a healthcare or related customer service role

- Ability to work in a team environment
- Knowledge of healthcare and health insurance
- Familiarity with medical terminology
- Displays positive attitudes towards assignments and others
- Rotation of early morning, afternoon, evening and weekend coverage
Other Requirements:
#LI-Onsite Pay Range - Minimum: USD $28.99/Hr
Pay Range - Maximum:
USD $33.34/Hr.
