Experienced Woodworker - Dover, United States - Whitewood Millwork

Whitewood Millwork is a custom PVC fabrication shop. We make many products out of cellular PVC that were traditionally made out of wood. A lot of the machinery and techniques are similar. We have an opening starting in June.

We are currently seeking someone with woodworking and construction experience for a position at our custom millwork facility in Dover NH.

It is a full time position with health insurance, retirement, and paid time off. This is a physically demanding job that requires employees to be on their feet during the working hours.

Employees are expected to be able to cut, glue, shape, and mill material to desired finished shapes and sizes with mínimal assistance.

• 2 years on basic shop woodworking machinery. Knowledge of safety practices, operation, and general maintenance.
• 2 years of construction job site experience. Knowledge of trim products, installation methods, and terminology.

The following skills are also required

• Good organizational skills. Keeping track of job progress, parts, materials used, and time
• Ability to read and work off of blueprints. This includes knowing how to scale drawings
• Good communication skills. These will be used to make sure jobs are properly planned out before they are started, to discuss any issues that may arise during a projects, and to recap a project once it's been done.
• Good math skills. Knowledge of how to work with both decimals and fractions and basic geometry
• Willingness to learn. We specialize in using cellular PVC trim, although the machinery is similar it's not the same as working with wood.

There is a short general aptitude test so we can asses skill levels and you must also be willing to take and pass a drug test.
