BETterment Housing Specialist
The Housing Specialist for the BETterment Community reports directly to the Clinical Services Manager and provides housing services to reintegrate those experiencing homelessness and connecting them to housing and comprehensive support services that will lead them to reaching their highest level of independence.

Responsibilities
- Conducts thorough and constant housing assessment of clients' changing needs by tracking and reporting their progress
- Maintains participant confidentiality
- Obtains all mandatory housing supporting documentation for case file
- Considers client needs for housing search of available housing inventory and consulting with landlords and property management offices to search inventory
- Develops and maintains positive relationships with landlords, property managers and residential real estate specialists
- Compiles client information, rental market information, and housing trends to provide data for reports and to guide decisions
- Provides limited and shortterm case management to clients with the purpose of securing and maintaining permanent housing
- Meets with clients in person at least every other week. Conduct virtual meetings (phone call, online meeting) during offweeks when not seeing a client in person
- Assists in distribution of temporary financial assistance payments
- Completes accurate and timely data entry into the HMIS and MCR
- Coordinates care with case managers and others on behalf of participant's holistic wellbeing
- Builds and maintains effective and professional working relationships with participants and community agencies
- Recruits property owners to collaborate in the placements of participants with high housing barriers
- Transports clients appropriately to resources they require in the community
- Submits required housing documents to various agencies to advance housing process
- Conducts landlord engagement and outreach in coordination with multiple agencies
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in social services field or a related field required
- A minimum of two years of relevant experience may substitute for degree requirements
- Experience working with homeless and/or lowincome populations
- Strong oral, written and communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work within a team
- Ability and willingness to work flexible hours to accommodate participants which may include evenings and/or weekends
- Selfmotivated, wellorganized, and accountable for work time, deadlines, and agency resources
- Quality control: demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness, monitors own work to ensure quality, and applies feedback to improve performance
- Valid drivers license required. Must meet company insurance requirements and complete a provided driver training course
