Job Overview:


  • As the Café Shift Supervisor for Roost Baltimore, you will be responsible for overseeing the cashiers and baristas and ensure that guests are attended to in a timely manner. As the Café Supervisor you will be a part of daily service and support the hotel and café team members in providing exceptional service to all our guests.
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Acts with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promote the culture of Method Co.
  • Maintains a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep store operating to standard and to set a positive example for the shift team.
  • Communicates information and issues to the F&B Manager and Hotel leaders so that the team can respond as necessary.
  • Contributes to positive team environment by recognizing shifts in morale and performance and communicating them to the F&B Manager.
  • Creates a positive learning environment by providing clear, specific, timely and respectful coaching and feedback to partners on shift to ensure operational excellence and to improve partner performance.
  • Delivers legendary customer service to all customers by acting with a customer comes first attitude and connecting with the customer.
  • Develops positive relationships with shift team by understanding and addressing individual motivation, needs and concerns.
  • Executes store operations during scheduled shifts. Organizes opening and closing duties as assigned.
  • Follows all cash management and cash register policies and ensures proper cash management practices are followed by shift team.
  • Follows up with baristas and cashiers during the shift to ensure the delivery of legendary customer service for all customers.
  • Maintains regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.
  • Follows health, safety and sanitation guidelines for all products.
  • Utilizes operational tools to achieve operational excellence during the shift.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:


  • Lead, motivate, and inspire front of house staff to deliver outstanding service and exceed guest expectations.
  • Ensure prompt, courteous, and efficient service delivery to all guests, maintaining a welcoming and hospitable atmosphere.
  • Address guest concerns or complaints promptly and professionally, striving to resolve issues to the guest's satisfaction.
  • Foster a culture of guestcentric service excellence among front of house staff, encouraging proactive engagement and personalized interactions.
  • Monitor inventory levels of café & market supplies.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, sanitation standards, and health codes, conducting regular inspections and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Foster a positive work environment characterized by teamwork, respect, and mutual support among front of house staff.

Qualifications:


  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in a supervisory role in food service operations, preferably in a highvolume coffee shop or café
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team of staff.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with guests, colleagues, and vendors.
  • Proficiency in pointofsale (POS) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by the demands of the business.
  • Ability to carry, lift, push, pull items weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to bend, stoop, and kneel.
  • Certification in food safety and sanitation (e.g., ServSafe) preferred.
