    Spencer Ogden is partnered with a leading transportation firm that is searching for someone to join their team in either the Charlotte or Raleigh, NC offices and make a significant impact The team is comprised of technical specialists who possess extensive knowledge in various design areas, including roads, bridges, structures, traffic engineering, intelligent transportation systems, public transit, and more

    Job Description

    • Lead the development of major infrastructure projects, including but not limited to highways, tunnels, mass transit systems, and aviation facilities, delivering designs from basic to advanced complexity in accordance with client specifications.
    • Conduct thorough reviews of preliminary designs to ensure they meet all applicable federal, state, and local standards before approving the final designs.
    • Commit to the implementation of company policies and standards in every design project.
    • Authorize and validate engineering designs by applying your professional signature and seal as required.
    • Execute site evaluations and analyses when necessary to confirm that designs are in sync with geographical and environmental conditions.
    • Periodically revise and update project design criteria to reflect changing requirements and standards.
    • Perform inspections on both newly constructed and existing transport infrastructure to ensure safety and compliance.
    • Work closely with the sales team to develop compelling proposals in response to RFPs from current and prospective clients.
    • Ensure that all proposal drafts meet the company's standards as well as those of the industry and comply with all relevant regulatory bodies.
    • Engage directly with existing and potential clients to understand their current needs and anticipate future requirements.
    • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and symposia, working in tandem with the sales team to promote our services and capabilities.
    • Offer technical mentorship and training to less experienced team members, guiding their professional development and preparing them for advancement within the company and industry. Responsibilities may include supervising junior engineers' project contributions.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Transportation, or Structural Engineering or related discipline.
    • Professional engineering (PE) license.
    • 7 years of related experience.
    • Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.
    • Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • NC PE license.
    • Strong ORD (OpenRoads Designer) experience.
