SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:


The Warehouse Manager will provide leadership and direction to maintain warehouse, installations, raw material, packaging material, and Magnolia Foods products in compliance with Safety Quality Food Institute (SQFI) and Food Safety Internal Procedures.

Employees holding this position will be required to perform other job-related duties as requested by management.

  • Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel safety, OSHA, FDA and Food safety policies and procedures. Ensure integrity of the loads, proper, inspection, shipping & receiving of all products.
  • Schedule warehouse team members to meet the demands of the facility. Determine staffing needs to meet workload requirements and manage daytoday budget and forecasts, manage employee performance.
  • Maintains physical organization of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment (doors, platforms, and industrial vehicles should be in operational conditions and free of carvings or scrapes); issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement. Allocate necessary space for stock rotation. Provide materials to production according to the First Expired First Out Procedure (FEFO) and shipping according to the First In First Out (FIFO).
  • Serve as an intermediary between Sales, Distribution and Manufacturing. Develop strong partnerships with plant management, planning, transportation, quality, and inventory control through daily meetings. Strong internal and external customer focus with effective followup.
  • Assist and maintain appropriate inventory levels and product loss control by conducting cycle counts, reconciling with data storage system.
  • Maintain contingency plans for time sensitive operations (unscheduled absentees, customer issues, systems malfunctions, inventory exceptions, transport equipment issues).
  • Ensure quality service to consumers by exceeding customer shipping requirements within the established time frame, and by communicating to internal contacts any issues that may impact customers.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops/courses; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

SPECIFIC SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Ability to effectively work unsupervised, and within a team, displaying an elevated level of initiative.
  • Ability Be able to effectively understand all policies, procedures, instructions, rules and regulations written in English. Effectively respond to these and where necessary, provide reports, presentations, information, or communications in English.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment, problem solving, effective communication, and conflict management skills.
  • Bilingual preferred (Spanish and English).
  • Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, Power Point, and business management software (Ax system preferred) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Must be able to develop performance metrics that will ensure that the team is working to maximize shareholder investment by eliminating waste in all processes.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Six years+ of experience in Warehouse supervisor and/or management. Six plus year in consumer products, food and beverage specifically, preferred.
  • SQF, Silliker, or AIB course. Previous experience with the SQF, USDA, FDA standards, or similar agencies. Knowledge of OSHA, military, health department, EPA, city and county regulations. Knowledge of the HACCP program.
