- Develop robust, low-power wireless condition monitoring sensors.
- Optimizes power management of wireless sensors, energy storage, and technology management as well as evaluate hardware & software improvements through testing.
- Design, develop, and integrate software and firmware components for embedded systems.
- Conduct feasibility studies and design systems based on performance, power usage, memory, and real-time requirements.
- Write code for microcontrollers, microprocessors, and other embedded devices; coordinates the interface of microcontrollers with digital and analog sensors.
- Completes interfacing with multiple ICs and systems using standard communication protocols (UART, I2C, SPI, etc.).
- Creates PC level utilities for interfacing and debugging firmware.
- Lead the process for system-level testing and debugging to identify and resolve issues.
- Implement and optimize device drivers, communication protocols, and real-time operating systems.
- Complete testing of equipment to characterize custom hardware and embedded software.
- Conduct research and explore innovative approaches to enhance system performance, optimize resources, and incorporate new features.
- Work safely and efficiently.
- Travel up to 10% of the time as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of embedded systems design, including low-power microcontrollers, microprocessors, and real-time operating systems.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, Python, Embedded C, RTOS, and other assembly language for embedded systems.
- Familiarity with embedded software development tools, debugging, and cross-compilation environments.
- Understanding of hardware design & testing, circuit schematics, and PCB layout concepts.
- Familiarity with PCB level soldering.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work well in a team and collaborate effectively.
