Description

Duties:


  • Evaluate primary prevention activities and review primary prevention research to recommend acceptable adaptations for integrated primary prevention.
  • Provide technical support to prevention specialists across the agency.
  • Analyze agencywide primary prevention related plans to prepare specific analyses.
  • Determine strategies for implementing integrated primary prevention activities to evaluate the outcome of integrated primary prevention efforts.
  • Integrate new primary prevention efforts within existing agency programs to streamline resources and create efficiencies.
  • Write research
- and data-informed policies to establish the means by which the Integrated Prevention Advisory Group (I-PAG) workforce implement primary prevention efforts.

  • Lead evaluations and/or audits to facilitate quality implementation.
  • Work across the public sector to identify partnerships integral to the agency or other federal agencies.

Basic Requirement for Prevention Integrator (MULTIDISCIPLINARY) (PREV WF).**A


Degree:
Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in behavioral or social science, or related disciplines appropriate to the position.

Combination of Education and

Experience:

A combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.

Experience:

Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.


  • In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:

  • Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes overseeing primary prevention efforts related to sexual assault, harassment, suicide, retaliation, domestic violence, and/or child abuse and neglect; assisting with writing policy guidance for use in prevention; analyzing primary prevention programs to recommend improvements to better inform decision making; assisting with providing consultation to staff personnel regarding the implementation of strategies designed to decrease and/or eliminate harmful behaviors risky/unhealthy behavior; and conducting research and/or translating research findings into primary prevention efforts. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
  • Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience aloneno substitution of education for experience is permitted.
