The Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters (EASRCC) represents 42,000+ hardworking men and women throughout the states of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, and Washington D.C., making it one of the largest trade unions on the East Coast.

The EASRCC equips professional craftsmen with the skills that are demanded in today's construction industry.

Its regional structure ensures that the organization can work cooperatively with contractors and maintain the superior quality of workmanship that contractors have come to expect from Union Carpenters.


Due to the nature of the organization, applicants should have a strong understanding, if not interest, in the history of organized labor, specifically the construction industry, and how it ties into government and politics.

Reporting to the Communication Director, the Communications Specialist will assume a critical role in shaping and disseminating our organizational narrative, both internally and externally.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategic external communication and marketing plans to enhance our Union's visibility and values;
  • Generate materials for internal communication with precision and consistency in messaging;
  • Forge and maintain relationships with news media to solidify opportunities that showcase our impact on the community, as well as our membership's unique stories;
  • Craft compelling content and stories across diverse platforms, including: websites, social media, and print materials;
  • Conduct thorough research and data analysis to inform content strategy and identify emerging trends;
  • Identify and capitalize on public relations opportunities to fortify our organizational brand;
  • Create and disseminate news advisories and press releases;
  • Hold video interviews;
  • Prepare talking points;
  • Edit short videos
  • Exceptional skills in video editing tools, specifically, Adobe Premiere Pro;
  • Proficient in copywriting, digital and print design, and media writing;
  • Excellent writing & editing ability;
  • Ability to plan & execute strategic communication initiatives;
  • Seasoned in all Microsoft Applications;
  • Detailoriented while maintaining the ability to multitask;
  • Selfmotivated and willing to learn;
  • Desire to work in an office setting—this position is not remote;
  • Availability to travel to events and jobsites
