This job is responsible for assisting with the recommendation process related to the buying, selling, or holding of financial securities and/or studying the role of government in the economy.

Key responsibilities include performing financial and statistical analyses, conducting research, preparing reports, helping to originate, structuring and modeling transactions, and assessing market trends.

Job expectations may include rotating through a specific product area or sector to gain exposure to the business.

The Health Care Facilities and Managed Care team currently covers 32-listed companies across a broad range of industries and subsectors within the healthcare services sector including health insurance, hospitals, home health, and value based care among others.

In addition to coverage of publicly traded companies, the team regularly vets a number of private companies for potential IPOs.

Perform complex financial modeling & valuation work
Write regular industry and company reports and indepth company initiations from scratch
Develop databases integral to our research product
Demonstrate strong industry knowledge, including healthcare policy and reimbursement landscape
Work with Senior Analysts to develop key industry themes
Build relationships and facilitate information flow with contacts at covered companies
Participate and contribute to client meetings and events
Attend meetings and interact with key opinion leaders
Closely follow and understand market, industry and company specific activity, and relay to analyst when traveling
Seek out new, unusual sources of information
Leverage our robust network of industry contacts
Interact regularly with sales, trading, and external clients

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience
Major(s) and areas of academic excellence including Accounting, Finance or Economics is a plus
Strong writing and spreadsheet skills and be extremely well versed in MS Word and MS Excel
Must enjoy following the stock market and doing desktop and field research
Along with Finance and Accounting, should have basic understanding of economics, macroeconomic factors, and policy/politics
Must have excellent communication skills, written and verbal
Must have strong attention to detail, ability to multitask
Must work well in a collaborative team environment
